Tips for budget-friendly Spring Cleaning

Spring cleaning can be fun, therapeutic and rewarding since it leaves your home dirt free and healthy. Unfortunately, it can also be very expensive and with product costs rising across the globe, cleaning your home can cost you more than is necessary. Luckily, we have come up with a few good tips that will help you save money and keep your space squeaky clean:

1- Buy your products in bulk

Whether you are buying from a special cleaning product company or a supermarket, buying in bulk is a good way to save a lot of money. Some stores will actually offer you discounts for buying a lot of products at once. Just remember to buy non-toxic products to ensure healthy cleaning.

2- DIY

From cleaning cloths to soaps, many people find that making their own products and tools is cheaper than buying from stores. Of course, we don’t advise you to make your own soap if you are not properly educated on the right chemicals to use but, if you know what you are doing…go for it! Furthermore, some natural ingredients like vinegar and baking soda can also be used to remove stubborn dirt.

3- Consider buying no-name brands

It is true that popular brands market their products as being a cut above the rest but, if affordable spring cleaning is what you are looking for, some brands might not be pocket-friendly. As such, we recommend trying out no-name brands. In the end, all you want is a non-toxic cleaner that gets the job done and you need not fork out tens or hundreds of pounds to get it.

4- Limit your water use

One of the key things that people who are trying to spring clean on a budget overlook is water usage. A lot of people waste water washing areas that can simply be wiped with a wet cloth. Next time you are spring cleaning, try and save water by using wet cloths and sponges then spraying some air freshener when you are done. It’s quick, easy and cuts your water bill down significantly.

There are plenty of other things you can do to cut your spring cleaning bill down but overall, the above tips will have a positive significant impact on your budget.
